In 1971, when those high schoolers in Marin County used ‘4:20' as a code word for ‘let's get stoned later,' it was because they were conspiring to do something illegal. Happily, that's no longer the case, at least for adults in California and a growing number of states. While the legal status of cannabis continues to change and evolve, so does the language. Thus our glossary.
